Objective: to make specialist interviews available in the lobby of a hotel where a Pharma Congress was being held in Rome.
Four touch wall with Christie Microtiles (rear projection video device) with laserscan allowed the participants at the conference to listen to snippets from various interviews on a dedicated portion of the screen. In collaboration with McCann Healthcare.

EXCOGITARE REACHES THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

Second year running with PepsiCo for hospitality at the event

First in 2016 at Milan, then 2017 in Cardiff, Excogitare has provided multimedia skills and technologies for the two events.

In Milan, the 600 square meter area of PepsiCo, the sponsor of this major trophy, was equipped with 2 large LED walls, a video camera system for show cooking, a lighting system, loudspeaker system, and an audio system with DJ consoles. Excogitare and Bluefactoryevents also collaborated to produce an interactive application for Gatorade, where guests could take selfies in a “Champions” environment and personalize their Gatorade bottle.  The “Champions” photos then powered intense activity on the web.

In Cardiff, besides the hospitality area of the Village, equally sparkling, rich in design and technology, Excogitare also organised audio-video and lighting installations for an internal PepsiCo event with around 250 guests. This included a show of about an hour where every brand of the group involved in the UEFA sponsorship showcased their activities in diverse ways: videos, presentations, talk shows, parkour performances and soccer ball tricks…  concluding with the live singing of the UEFA anthem, the presentation of the trophy and the participation from their hotel in Cardiff of the fantastic Black Eyed Peas, the group chosen this year for the opening ceremony.

DRIVING ENGAGEMENT WITH A PHOTO BOOTH

Simple, easy-to-use app guarantees success

Insert a “magic” token, turn the handle on the stove and take a mini-apple pie! We will capture your expression and your amazement with a photo or a gif sent by mail and which can be shared on social media. This is the application developed for and with MRM-McCann for the Indesit brand to create a truly special “vending machine”.

For Hermès we developed the app in various editions for a photo booth which takes centre-stage in a series of in-store events organized by the brand in Italy. Customers immortalized their own outfit with a snap, after choosing the brand’s accessories, with a flood of single and group photos.

WITH PEPSICO AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK

Following a good start, the second time was great as well

Directly involved with PepsiCo US and working closely with the PepsiCo design department, headquarted in New York, Excogitare, Bluefactoryevents and Icet Studios created the space and audio, video and lighting installations for “MIX IT UP 2016 “at Superstudio 13 in Milan. An intriguing pop mix with design, music, fashion and culinary art, in collaboration with great talents from the international design industry such as Fabio Novembre, Karim Rashid, Lapo Elkann + Garage Italia Customs, Benjamin Hubert, Jeremy Scott, Design Group Italia and many others. 7 activities, 7 different concepts developed by 7 different designers for a single space, which experienced different moods with lights, sound and atmospheres, both during the day and night. An LED wall and monitors with interactive content, projections, lights, audio and VJ, with special effects including soap bubbles and smoke, were all followed by 360° recording, photo shoots and videos. The client’s trust in the team was reconfirmed for the 2017 edition with a new design in collaboration with Design Group Italia, Mathieu Lehanneur, Luca Nichetto, Fabio Novembre, Davide Oldani, Studio Job and Patricia Urquiola to offer an interactive and engaging showcase where the past, present and future converged in an exploration of how we eat and drink in a hyperconnected society. The project featured an LED wall, water screens, light effects, projections and DJ set.

EXCOGITARE CLEANS UP FOR SECOND YEAR RUNNING

MicroTiles Christie return to Verona trade fair with Arco Chimica

We created a stand with 102 Christie MicroTiles™ for AR-CO Chemicals at the 2017 edition of Pulire, an international trade show for environmental hygiene products and technology. The stand featured three video walls in an original configuration.

In-situ LED wall with windows

Pharma company meeting for 250 participants

We decided to use a large 16x5m LED wall to bring to life create a meeting in the cruise ship terminal at Copenhagen. The main feature of the wall was its huge, very bright windows.
We also provided audio, video and lighting services in the break-out rooms, marketplace and poster gallery.

Simulating the degree of severity of psoriasis

The set-up of a stand for a major pharmaceutical company in an international congress of Dermatology (EADV 2015) in Copenhagen.

We used 45 square metres of AOTO 3.5 mm LEDs, for 3 large screens and multiple touch monitors. We also created several of the interactive applications on the stand.
Among these, the “PASI Projector” is of particular interest. This is an interactive system to display psoriasis marks on the hand and forearm, thereby attempting to raise awareness among doctors participating in the conference of this often neglected disease.
The interaction was facilitated by means of a special monitor with object recognition and a projector with high luminosity.
The solution was designed and developed by Excogitare.

McCann Complete Medical experiments with Microtiles

For a Bexsero stand during a medical conference which took place at the MiCo convention centre in Milan, one of the most important Pharma communication agencies, McCann Complete Medical, experienced MicroTiles™ with an interactive video wall and an impressive installation in the shape of a key

Mix of technology for pharma event

Eular 2015

We provided some hi-tech “goodies” on the 145 square meter stand of a multinational pharma company at an international rheumatology congress in Rome. A high-performance interactive table was used to display publications and clinical studies with interactive routes generated by recognising objects. Excogitare  also developed an interactive app which an operator used to show exclusive materials to doctors. The tabled also featured a seamless 55″ monitor, the only one of its kind in the world, which allows an “unlimited” number of simultaneous touch points. The monitor also recognises objects via their shape and size as well as by markers. Since the monitor is seamless it is possible to connect more monitors to create interactive journeys.
Excogitare also created an interactive installation with 3 LED arches 2.6 metres in height. One of the arches was lined internally with a curved LED screen. (We also developed an app.) An emotional journey with video content was activated by a sensor that can detect visitors’ position. An engaging audio experience was employed directional speakers with ultrasound. The last arch offered insights to raise physicians’ awareness of rheumatoid arthritis through the use monitors.
The stand also hosted an animated sculpture (produced by Gruppo Interfiere) representing the operation of the molecule that causes the disease.

DULEVO CHOOSES MICROTILES

LED or MicroTiles?

For “Pulire” 2015, trade show dedicated to industrial cleaning systems held in Verona, Dulevo International needed to create a large wall on its stand. Instead of using a conventional LED wall, the company decided to try out Christie MicroTiles™.

Dulevo wanted to introduce something new to the sector that could manage high-quality digital content combined with performance that “outshines” the usual LED displays – both in terms of brightness and colour management. 80 MicroTiles™, formed into a screen of 4 × 2.80m, really brought the stand to life.

ECFC 2013 – European Conference on Cystic Fibrosis

A thousand people against 10,000 bacteria

Novartis required a stand to communicate the characteristics of a specific product.A game created for a major pharmaceutical company featuring an iPad and MicroTiles™ proved very popular with the 1100 players who took part in killing approximately 10,000 bacteria by hurling foam balls at a wall composed of 35 MicroTiles™. The game united individual players or pairs in a virtual battle against the bacterium “Pseudomonas aeruginosa”, the major cause of serious damage from cystic fibrosis, with the drug for the treatment of the disease. In addition to killing the bacteria, the game also included several striking, symbolic features, which enhanced the action of the players. The features of the game included:on-stand registration via iPad; issuing the “weapons”, the foam balls; players’ names and scores on the MicroTiles™ wall; and a match lasting 30 seconds with a free prize for the winner. The game produced great customer satisfaction and attracted a high number of participants and the client has decided to replicate the game at a future event. All the technology and digital content created for the stand, was realized by us.

At the Rimini Meeting with IntesaSanpaolo

Touchscreen video wall made from Christie MicroTiles™ in Rimini

Banca IntesaSanpaolo decided to try out Christie MicroTiles™ and commissioned from us a touchscreen video wall with I-kit (the multitouch application for Christie MicroTiles™).The video wall, made up of 24 MicroTiles, has been included in a booth in the exhibition area of ??the Rimini Meeting in late August. We also produced an interactive application to manage digital content, which allowed participants to experience IntesaSanpaolo’s “possible  world” through the words of ordinary folk and businesspeople.
The installation highlighted the bank’s role in the forthcoming Expo and some of Intesa’s cultural activities as well.

12 plasma screens form the bow of a submarine

A journey into the human body

We took care of the system design and production of 12 animations in 3D, each synchronized to a video server with high capacity remote control.
The audio and soundtrack were produced in Dolby Surround 5.1.
The resources available in 2001 for this type of multivision were very different from this of today. In those years it was a real challenge and an ambitious project that certainly gave us the opportunity to develop a unique experience in this field. This was a project that is still talked about today and was a source of pride for the whole team.

EAACI 2014 – European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology

In Copenhagen with Christie MicroTiles™ and interactive monitors

In June 2014 Novartis asked us to create a stand for the International Congress of Allergology EAACI Copenhagen to coordinate local suppliers of audio and video technology for symposiums with 400 doctors. We designed and created a 100m2 stand, with a “simple” interactive where two handsets – operated with an Arduino interface card – enabled different content to appear on two 46″monitors. An area with a large screen size of 3.6 meters x 2.7 meters, composed of 81 Christie MicroTiles™, completed the visual concept of the stand.

Multi-screen projection in Cologne

7 screens for Rimadesio

Once again, on the occasion of an important event, this time in Cologne in Germany, we used the technique of multi-screen projection that allowed us to recreate a dynamic environment where the images projected became the true stars of the venue.
We took care of the production for 7 screens, as well as directing and co-ordinating the event and installing  the visual display system.

EADV 2014 Annual Congress of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology

Two stands and a symposium

We managed the technological equipment for two adjoining stands of 100 square meters each and provided technical support for audio and video with 186 MicroTiles™ and 30 LCD seamless monitors in various solutions with a touch screen videowall and we produced digital content. One particularly interesting feature was the realization of a multi touch table with object recognition. By moving a solid spherical shape or a cube, delegates could access different content via the application. We developed dedicated software and content using an infrared touch screen device. We coordinated the technical direction for a symposium with 700 participants and a private streaming link to room in anexternal location with another 200 spectators. We optimized the content of the slides in line with the graphics of the event and made short animations and walk-in installations. We also created a web application that after the event allowed a slideshow to be viewed online, synchronized with speech and video contributions.
Finally, we developed a portal from which all the local offices of Novartis worldwide could download the applications used on the stands with instructions and source files so that they could be customized, translated and re-used in local markets.

European Cystic Fibosis Society (ECFS) Göteborg 2014

Stand and workshops for 800 participants

We created a stand of 60 square meters: it was small but packed full of activities. We also co-ordinated local suppliers of audio and video technology for several symposia. For the stand we have created a “virtual tree” – a multimedia installation formed from 10 iPads which 110 users interacted with. We even set up an augmented reality corner. The iPad application was designed to visualize the results of a satisfaction questionnaire in real time. After answering a questionnaire the user could check how their feedback related to that of the nine other participants. The interaction was handled by a local server which controlled the iPads via wi-fi. Meanwhile, augmented reality was used with two iMacs and two printed books displaying scientific content. The pages of the books were fitted with electronic tags. Two web cams were installed into a pair of table lamps that shone on the books. The user could browse the book and when the web cam read a tag, its content appeared on the computer monitors as a 3D animation. The stand also featured two 55″ monitors, where related content could be accessed and controlled using an iPad. The backdrop of the stand was dedicated to medical topics with monitors displaying videos and questionnaires.

ALTANA Pharma

Pantoprazole

ALTANA Pharma was Excogitare’s first client in the pharmaceutical sector in 2001 when it was still called BykGulden, until 2008 when the company was acquired by a Danish pharmaceutical firm. Working for ALTANA Pharma has been very useful in terms of the experience it offered us as a launch pad for the international market. In those years, we realized that we could compete with other agencies at the international level by offering expertise and flexibility. We have been involved with numerous stands, interactive installations, symposia, internal meetings and special events with ALTANAPharma.

Using a configuration of 6×4 Christie MicroTiles™ attendees could draw using simple brushes and all a full range of hues by mixing them on a painter’s palette with primary colours. A professional illustrator helped engage the audience.
Up to 9 people can interact simultaneously with the system, which can be equipped with tablets using this configuration.

Multi touch with object recognition

Are you planning to use a multi touch table? We have developed a new solution that allows the recognition of objects with different shapes using any type of monitor combined with an infrared touchscreen frame. Resting a solid cylinder on the screen rather than a cube, you can access different content via the application.
The results obtained are similar to the Samsung SUR40 (the old Microsoft Surface), but with a much more readily available technology, far less expensive and with the advantage of being able to use a monitor of any size.
